Class Announcements:
-This is the last week the students can take out a book from the school and classroom library. The students are still required to have a book to read until June 5th. I discussed with students that they could borrow books from the public library, family, a friend, or purchase a $1 book from Scholastic (orders would need to be in by Friday, May 16th). This will be counted as a participation grade. If students do not bring a book to read in class, they will lose points.
-Fourth grade field trip is Tuesday, May 27th. Permission slips must be signed and returned with a payment by Wednesday, May 21st. This is a rain or shine event. Students must dress according to weather. Students MUST wear sneakers. If raining, students are permitted to wear boots.
-Accelerated Reader: The students are required to take at least one AR test a month. The month of September could have been the required summer reading. The students are allotted time to take AR tests in Library, Computer, after tests, at recess, and during AR time in Reading. The students receive participation points for taking these tests.

WALDAMEER SCHOOL PICNIC TICKET ORDERS ARE DUE TOMORROW, FRIDAY, MAY 23rd
Attention Altar Servers: Forms were sent home last week asking if you wanted to remain on the schedule as an Altar Server, and invited anyone going into Grades 5-8 to become an Altar Server. If you have not returned your completed form please do so by tomorrow. Thank you.
The family of Andrew and Rose Agostini has established a memorial scholarship in their memory. The Agostini’s had been very active over the years at Blessed Sacrament School and Rose volunteered in the cafeteria. The scholarship is open to all students entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grade for the 2014-15 school year. If your child is in 5th, 6th, or 7th grade you received an information flyer in their Thursday envelope. The deadline for this scholarship is May 29th, no late forms will be accepted.
Fun In The Sun-Students in K-3: Just a reminder that Kindergarten through 3rd grade will participate in the Annual Fun in the Sun Day tomorrow, Friday, May 23rd. Events take place from Noon until 2:30pm. This is a casual day. Students may bring a water bottle if they would like. Sunscreen, hopefully, is a must. Thank you to all who volunteered for this event. Please arrive at the Football Field at 11:30am. In case of rain we will move to the gym.
Congratulations to seventh grader Katie Rose who participated in the State Competition of PJAS earlier this week. We are proud to say that Katie came home with a second place finish. Way to go Katie!
